Description
The sighting of the Morning Star heralds the beginning of a new day.  It is said among the Native American people, that if you see the morning star, creator has given you another day to live and you will not die during that day.  The Morning Star symbol is so special to the people that when a young man goes up the hill to seek his vision, he will wrap himself in a Morning Star Quilt.

This 5-colored beaded band was inspired by the colors and designs in my sons dance regalia.

The two-page pattern features a full color graph-style beading chart, a color key with suggested delica bead colors and bead counts, a color photo of the finished piece, and detailed step-by-step instructions to help you attach the beadwork strip to a leather band.

Description
Beaded hair sticks are a fun accessory to make and to wear.  This pattern is designed to mirror the bargello pattern that is so popular in quilting.  The colors I chose are all earth tones, but they could easily be changed to match any outfit you have.

The beadwork will fit nicely on a disposable chopstick which can be trimmed to any length or used as is.  The main beadwork piece is stitched in  Even Count Tubular Peyote.  The beadwork is 1.75 inches long and the fringe is 1 inch long.

The two page pattern features a full-color graph style beading chart for the beadwork section, a color key with suggested delica bead colors and bead counts, suggestions to help you prepare your chopstick for beading, and detailed instructions in word and graph form to help you create the fringe.  Suggested bead colors and bead counts are also included for the fringe.

Description
Feathers are very important in the Native American community. We give and receive feathers from each other and from our feathered brothers.

We use these feathers in ceremonies and as part of our regalia. In order to protect the quills of the feather, we will sometimes bead them.

The easiest beading technique for a quill is peyote stitch.

This quill pattern has a more feminine look.  It features two purple rose buds and a circling pattern of star flowers.

This one-page pattern includes a full-color easy-to-read beading chart, suggested delica bead colors with bead counts, instructions to help you prepare the quill of the feather for beading, and a full-color photograph of the finished quill.

The finished beaded quill will be approximately 3 inches long.
